Ad hoc -queries
The ad hoc -queries are an important tool for the EMN, as they provide a rapid way of acquiring comparative information on e.g. how a certain issue in the field of migration is organized or handled in other EU-member states.
How does it work
An ad hoc -query is always launched by the EMN national contact point in a member state. The initiative for the query can come from a member of the national network or from the administration of the member state. The query should consist of concise and well formulated questions in order to get comparable replies.
The ad hoc -query is then sent to the EMN NCP:s in all member states, whose task it is to find the reply on the national level. The time to respond to the query is 2-4 weeks. The NCP of the member state who launched the query is responsible for gathering all the replies and producing a compilation of them. The compilation is then disseminated to the other member states.
Ad hoc -query compilations
The compilations of replies to ad hoc -queries can be found here. They are grouped according to the member state on the left side of the page, who has launched the query. All compilations are in English and the search function of the website can be used to find those of interest.
